In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Carrie Sharp by Grear Patterson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,986.57), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Grear Patterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pants On Fire, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,383.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Carrie Sharp von Grear Patterson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.986,57) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Grear Patterson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pants On Fire beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.383,48) versteigert wurde.
