Auction result well in line with expectations
In January last year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Layered Portrait (After Lucian Freud) 3 by Glenn Brown. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,142.00 (€ 2,567.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Glenn Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tragic Conversion Of Salvador Dalí (After John Martin) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,193,250.00 (€ 6,430,479.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Layered Portrait (After Lucian Freud) 3 von Glenn Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.142,00 (€ 2.567,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Glenn Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Tragic Conversion Of Salvador Dalí (After John Martin) im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.193.250,00 (€ 6.430.479,91).
