Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Tart Wit, Wise Humor by Glenn Brown. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 718,200.00 (€ 836,695.05). Admittedly, works by Glenn Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tragic Conversion Of Salvador Dalí (After John Martin) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,193,250.00 (€ 6,430,479.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tart Wit, Wise Humor von Glenn Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 718.200,00 (€ 836.695,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Glenn Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Tragic Conversion Of Salvador Dalí (After John Martin) im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.193.250,00 (€ 6.430.479,91).
