Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Plate 1, from: Half-Life (after Rembrandt) by Glenn Brown. The price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,520.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Glenn Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tragic Conversion Of Salvador Dalí (After John Martin) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,193,250.00 (€ 6,430,479.91).
