In October 2017 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Gli Amanti (I) (Lovers (I)) by Giuseppe Gallo. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,607.83), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Gallo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 367,500.00 (€ 347,419.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gli Amanti (I) (Lovers (I)) von Giuseppe Gallo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.607,83) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giuseppe Gallo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 367.500,00 (€ 347.419,17).
