The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,588.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giorgio Cavallon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunday Morning in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 118,310.10).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit No 84 von Giorgio Cavallon wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion First OpenPost-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 18.588,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giorgio Cavallon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunday Morning im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 118.310,10).
