Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, November 1964 by Giorgio Cavallon was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,993.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giorgio Cavallon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunday Morning, which sold at auction in September 2018 for USD 137,500.00 (€ 118,310.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, November 1964 von Giorgio Cavallon kam im September 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.993,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Giorgio Cavallon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunday Morning beobachtet, die im September 2018 für USD 137.500,00 (€ 118.310,10) versteigert wurde.
