In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included this untitled work by Giorgio Cavallon. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,146.19), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giorgio Cavallon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunday Morning in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 118,310.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Giorgio Cavallon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 18.146,19) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giorgio Cavallon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunday Morning im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 118.310,10).
