In July 2013 Christies in New York held the auction First Open: Summer Edition, which included this untitled work by Giorgio Cavallon. The »bidding war« ended at USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,233.70), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giorgio Cavallon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunday Morning in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 118,310.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open: Summer Edition durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Giorgio Cavallon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 28.233,70) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giorgio Cavallon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunday Morning im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 118.310,10).
