Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Black Silk Dress (Anais) by Gerald Leslie Brockhurst was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 448.00 (€ 410.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Leslie Brockhurst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vanity in June last year with an auction result of GBP 176,400.00 (€ 204,926.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Black Silk Dress (Anais) von Gerald Leslie Brockhurst im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 448,00 (€ 410,26) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Leslie Brockhurst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vanity im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 176.400,00 (€ 204.926,62).
