This artwork by Gerald Leslie Brockhurst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Portrait study of a lady 25.1 x 20 cm. (9 7/8 x 7 7/8 in.) sold for GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,638.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerald Leslie Brockhurst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vanity in June last year with an auction result of GBP 176,400.00 (€ 204,926.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerald Leslie Brockhurst erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait study of a lady 25.1 x 20 cm. (9 7/8 x 7 7/8 in.) für GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.638,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerald Leslie Brockhurst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vanity im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 176.400,00 (€ 204.926,62).
