Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The Bank Holiday by George Shaw. The price achieved of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,156.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Undergrowth, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 79,875.00 (€ 93,228.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Bank Holiday von George Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.156,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Shaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Undergrowth beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für GBP 79.875,00 (€ 93.228,43) versteigert wurde.
