The work The Passion : The Knockout Fish Bar by George Shaw was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in March last year. It achieved a price of GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,865.18), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Undergrowth, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 79,875.00 (€ 93,228.43).

Die Arbeit The Passion : The Knockout Fish Bar von George Shaw wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.865,18) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 54%. Für andere Arbeiten von George Shaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Undergrowth beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für GBP 79.875,00 (€ 93.228,43) versteigert wurde.
