In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale, which included the work Scenes From The Passion: Ash Wednesday by George Shaw. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,702.76), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Undergrowth, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 79,875.00 (€ 93,228.43).

Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scenes From The Passion: Ash Wednesday von George Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.702,76) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Shaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Undergrowth beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für GBP 79.875,00 (€ 93.228,43) versteigert wurde.
