It achieved a price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 44,427.37), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Undergrowth, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 79,875.00 (€ 93,228.43).
