It achieved a price of GBP 27,940.00 (€ 31,787.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Undergrowth, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 79,875.00 (€ 93,228.43).

Die Arbeit Scenes from the Passion: Between the Social Club and the Flats von George Shaw kam im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 27.940,00 (€ 31.787,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Für andere Arbeiten von George Shaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Undergrowth beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für GBP 79.875,00 (€ 93.228,43) versteigert wurde.
