Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Franz Xavier Wölfle could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work An old man smoking a pipe changed hands for USD 780.00 (€ 646.87) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Franz Xavier Wölfle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Tyrolean gentleman smoking a pipe; and Another of a Tyrolean gentleman with a feather in his hat in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,714.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Franz Xavier Wölfle konnte im September 2005 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wechselte die Arbeit An old man smoking a pipe für USD 780,00 (€ 646,87) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Franz Xavier Wölfle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Tyrolean gentleman smoking a pipe; and Another of a Tyrolean gentleman with a feather in his hat im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 3.714,79).
