Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An old man smoking a pipe; also a companion painting by Franz Xavier Wölfle was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2005. The price achieved of USD 1,200.00 (€ 995.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Xavier Wölfle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Tyrolean gentleman smoking a pipe; and Another of a Tyrolean gentleman with a feather in his hat, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,714.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An old man smoking a pipe; also a companion painting von Franz Xavier Wölfle kam im September 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.200,00 (€ 995,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Franz Xavier Wölfle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Tyrolean gentleman smoking a pipe; and Another of a Tyrolean gentleman with a feather in his hat beobachtet, die im Juni 2003 für GBP 2.585,00 (€ 3.714,79) versteigert wurde.
