Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 1,200.00 (€ 995.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Xavier Wölfle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Tyrolean gentleman smoking a pipe; and Another of a Tyrolean gentleman with a feather in his hat, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,714.79).
