This artwork by Franz Xavier Wölfle achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2005. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work Toothache sold for USD 1,140.00 (€ 924.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600.00. Admittedly, works by Franz Xavier Wölfle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Tyrolean gentleman smoking a pipe; and Another of a Tyrolean gentleman with a feather in his hat in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,714.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 90 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Franz Xavier Wölfle erzielte im August 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wurde die Arbeit Toothache für USD 1.140,00 (€ 924,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Franz Xavier Wölfle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Tyrolean gentleman smoking a pipe; and Another of a Tyrolean gentleman with a feather in his hat im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 3.714,79).
