Auction result misses estimated price range

In March 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Study/Falling Man (Overhead Figure) by Ernest Trova for USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,315.07). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Ernest Trova have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study/Falling Man (Wheel Man) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 54,091.18).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im März 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Study/Falling Man (Overhead Figure) von Ernest Trova für USD 9.375,00 (€ 7.315,07) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Trova auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study/Falling Man (Wheel Man) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 54.091,18).
