In November 2000 Christies in New York held the auction 19th and 20th Century Prints, which included the work Empire State Building by Ernest Fiene. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,055.00 (€ 3,513.92), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ernest Fiene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter Day, Pittsburgh in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 33,118.43).

Im November 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th and 20th Century Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Empire State Building von Ernest Fiene zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.055,00 (€ 3.513,92) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Fiene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Winter Day, Pittsburgh im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 33.118,43).
