Despite a disappointment, a good price for Ernest Fiene
In November 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Winter Day, Pittsburgh by Ernest Fiene for USD 37,500.00 (€ 33,118.43). This price was achieved in the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Winter Day, Pittsburgh is the most expensive artwork by Ernest Fiene that we have observed at auction so far.
