Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French Air by Erik Schmidt was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2014. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,565.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erik Schmidt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ein Langer Sommer (A Long Summer), which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,127.09).

Die Arbeit French Air von Erik Schmidt wurde im Juni 2014 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.565,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Erik Schmidt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ein Langer Sommer (A Long Summer) beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.127,09) versteigert wurde.
