Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Open To Public by Erik Schmidt was sold in the TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,855.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erik Schmidt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ein Langer Sommer (A Long Summer), which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,127.09).
