Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Cursive Script Calligraphy by Emperor Yongzheng was worth HKD 288,000.00 (€ 28,927.92) to a buyer in May 2006. This price was achieved in the auction The Imperial Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emperor Yongzheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Xingshu, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 937,500.00 (€ 91,770.77).
