Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Female Head by Elie Nadelman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 41,095.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elie Nadelman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Horse in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 842,500.00 (€ 681,413.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Female Head von Elie Nadelman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 41.095,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elie Nadelman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Horse im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 842.500,00 (€ 681.413,78).
