Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lotus by Dr. Dain L. Tasker was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,755.00 (€ 10,884.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dr. Dain L. Tasker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips; Lily; and Strelitzia (Bird of Pardise) 3, which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,473.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lotus von Dr. Dain L. Tasker im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 10.755,00 (€ 10.884,53) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Dr. Dain L. Tasker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tulips; Lily; and Strelitzia (Bird of Pardise) 3 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.473,70) versteigert wurde.
