Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Selected X-Rays Of Flowers by Dr. Dain L. Tasker was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,309.21). Admittedly, works by Dr. Dain L. Tasker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tulips; Lily; and Strelitzia (Bird of Pardise) 3 in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,473.70).
