Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Bear Witness | #SothebysBearWitness, which included the work Shibboleth by Doris Salcedo. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,750.00 (€ 10,714.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Doris Salcedo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 629,615.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Bear Witness | #SothebysBearWitness durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shibboleth von Doris Salcedo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.750,00 (€ 10.714,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Doris Salcedo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 629.615,60).
