Auction result well in line with expectations
The work And the days are not full enough / And the nights are not full enough; Empty are the ways of this land; Fortitude as never before.... / Frankness as never before; You stand about the streets / You loiter at the corners and bus-stops / You do next to by Dexter Dalwood was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,349.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dexter Dalwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brian Jones' Swimming Pool in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 144,000.00 (€ 213,474.83).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.349,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dexter Dalwood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Brian Jones' Swimming Pool im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 144.000,00 (€ 213.474,83).
