Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Grosvenor Square by Dexter Dalwood was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,494.85). Admittedly, works by Dexter Dalwood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brian Jones' Swimming Pool in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 144,000.00 (€ 213,474.83).
