Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Christies in Paris held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work The Deluge by Dexter Dalwood. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,990.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Dexter Dalwood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brian Jones' Swimming Pool in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 144,000.00 (€ 213,474.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Deluge von Dexter Dalwood zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 21.420,00 (€ 24.990,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dexter Dalwood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brian Jones' Swimming Pool im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 144.000,00 (€ 213.474,83).
