Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Morning Swim) by Delia Brown. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,500.00 (€ 3,401.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Delia Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blonde Self-Portrait in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 78,000.00 (€ 57,979.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Morning Swim) von Delia Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.500,00 (€ 3.401,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Delia Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blonde Self-Portrait im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 78.000,00 (€ 57.979,63).
