Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Independence to Survive by David Thorpe was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,647.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Thorpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Do What You Have To Do in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 40,332.25).

Die Arbeit Independence to Survive von David Thorpe kam im Februar 2006 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.647,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Thorpe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Do What You Have To Do im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 40.332,25).
