In April 2018 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Fragile Resistance by David Thorpe. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,138.89) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Thorpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Do What You Have To Do in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 40,332.25).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fragile Resistance von David Thorpe zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.138,89) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Thorpe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Do What You Have To Do im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 40.332,25).
