Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Thorpe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2019. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Good People sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Thorpe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Do What You Have To Do sold at auction in October 2011 with the realized price of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 40,332.25).
