Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Enclosure Garland by David Thorpe for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,387.64). This price was achieved in the auction Shaping the Surface: Online Auction at Phillips in Online Auction and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Thorpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Do What You Have To Do in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 40,332.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Enclosure Garland von David Thorpe für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.387,64) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Shaping the Surface: Online Auction bei Phillips in Online Auction erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Thorpe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Do What You Have To Do im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 40.332,25).
