Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2013 Christies in London held the auction THINKING BIG, which included the work I Am Golden by David Thorpe. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,819.92), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Thorpe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Do What You Have To Do, which sold at auction in October 2011 for GBP 34,850.00 (€ 40,332.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion THINKING BIG durch, in der auch die Arbeit I Am Golden von David Thorpe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.819,92) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David Thorpe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Do What You Have To Do beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für GBP 34.850,00 (€ 40.332,25) versteigert wurde.
