Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Gender Reversals by David Whittaker. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 27,462.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Whittaker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten), which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gender Reversals von David Whittaker zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 27.462,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Whittaker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.507,61) versteigert wurde.
