Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Auditorium by Dan Walsh was sold in the First Open/NYC auction at Christies in New York in September 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 25,736.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dan Walsh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Diptych II, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 64,149.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Auditorium von Dan Walsh wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion First Open/NYC bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 25.736,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dan Walsh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Diptych II beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 64.149,56) versteigert wurde.
