Artwork auctioned at nine times the upper estimate price
When the work Three trees on an island by Daisy Dodd-Noble was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 7,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than nine times as high at USD 69,850.00 (€ 64,247.61). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Daisy Dodd-Noble; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Purple Forest sold at auction in June this year with the realized price of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 80,653.27).
Kunstwerk zum Neunfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Three trees on an island von Daisy Dodd-Noble im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 7.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 69.850,00 (€ 64.247,61) mehr als neunmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Daisy Dodd-Noble; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Purple Forest im Juni diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 69.300,00 (€ 80.653,27).
