Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mother and Son (The Question, Florida) by Consuelo Kanaga was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,349.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Consuelo Kanaga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Profile of a Young Girl from the Tennessee Series in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 94,857.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mother and Son (The Question, Florida) von Consuelo Kanaga kam im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.349,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Consuelo Kanaga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Profile of a Young Girl from the Tennessee Series im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 94.857,60).
