This artwork by Consuelo Kanaga achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October this year. In the Photographs auction, the work She is a Tree of Life to Them sold for USD 22,860.00 (€ 21,631.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Consuelo Kanaga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Profile of a Young Girl from the Tennessee Series in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 94,857.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Consuelo Kanaga erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit She is a Tree of Life to Them für USD 22.860,00 (€ 21.631,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Consuelo Kanaga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Profile of a Young Girl from the Tennessee Series im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 94.857,60).
