This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Consuelo Kanaga - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Profile of a Young Girl from the Tennessee Series, which sold at auction in April 2019 for USD 106,250.00 (€ 94,857.60).
