It changed hands for a price of USD 14,810,000.00 (€ 14,021,965.54) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clyfford Still - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 1949-A-No . 1, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 61,682,500.00 (€ 45,850,367.95).
