Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Clyfford Still was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2016. The price achieved of USD 13,690,000.00 (€ 12,941,955.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clyfford Still - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 1949-A-No . 1, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 61,682,500.00 (€ 45,850,367.95).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Clyfford Still kam im November 2016 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.690.000,00 (€ 12.941.955,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Clyfford Still mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 1949-A-No . 1 beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 61.682.500,00 (€ 45.850.367,95) versteigert wurde.
