Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2007 Phillips in New York held the auction Saturday@Phillips, which included the work Camera Club 4; and Camera Club 11 by Chris Verene. The price achieved of USD 1,200.00 (€ 887.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Verene - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Galesburg #35 (Josh and His Girlfriend); Galesburg #2 (My Cousin Candi's Wedding with Her Two Favorite Customers from Her Job at the Sirloin Stockade); and Untitled (Girl in a Cornfield), which sold at auction in October 2002 for USD 2,390.00 (€ 2,418.78).
