The work Victoria Falls Bridge by Chris Burden was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 28,360.75) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Burden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warship in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 502,000.00 (€ 450,830.71).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Victoria Falls Bridge von Chris Burden kam im November 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 28.360,75) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Burden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warship im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 502.000,00 (€ 450.830,71).
