Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Right To Bear Arms (From Small Guns Series) by Chris Burden was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 28,360.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Burden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warship in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 502,000.00 (€ 450,830.71).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 28.360,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Burden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warship im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 502.000,00 (€ 450.830,71).
