Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled by Cheyney Thompson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,438.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheyney Thompson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chronochrome II in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 288,339.09).

Die Arbeit Untitled von Cheyney Thompson kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.438,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheyney Thompson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chronochrome II im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 288.339,09).
